We couldn't have assembled a more scrumptious Frenchie if we had tried! This delectable nugget was surrendered to us by his owners when their other dogs were bullying him in the home and they could not provide him with the stability and routine he needed. Now, Moxie is seeking a patient, permanent family who can give him the love, care and attention he so desperately needs and deserves.

Moxie is looking for a home with someone who can be with him most of the day - someone who can stay at home with him or take him to the office, ensuring that he gets as much attention as possible. An alternative would be a pet sitter for midday breaks. He would do best in a home with a fenced yard because he likes to run around outside and sunbathe. He enjoys leashed walks, tug of war and taking naps.

Moxie's history with cats is unknown, so there can be no kitties in his forever home, but he wouldn't mind having a playful canine buddy. He will fight back if another dog is aggressive towards him, however, so other dogs in the home should be friendly.

He is quite the chowhound, and always has his nose to the floor, snarfing down anything he can get his paws on. However, he does have mild allergies and not be allowed any human food. He should stay on a grain-free, high quality diet. This is one reason that we prefer that any children in the family be at least ten years old so he does not get any forbidden treats. He takes a daily dose of Apoquel to control the itchies and has medicated baths.

At 45 lb, Moxie is a big boy.  He loves his stuffed animals and does well in his crate when left alone. His new family must be willing and able to drive and pick him up. SMRS does not ship dogs and adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family.

SMRS does not have a facility location. Our dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications. For detailed information about the dogs in our care, please read the bios on each dogs webpage.
