Pops is a laid back gentleman. He is super chill and wants nothing more than to curl up next to his person and snooze. He enjoys following his person from room to room and he will be the first in the kitchen while you're cooking, in case you drop any good morsels! Pops enjoys a stroll in the yard, but at his own pace.

Pops is a healthy older guy. He does take a daily eye drop and joint supplement, but that is about it. He gets along well with the foster dogs in his home. He has not been exposed to cats, but we do not feel he would care about them.

Pops is potty trained, but if you miss his signal to go outside he will have an accident. He barks to let you know he needs to go out. Frequent potty breaks are needed due to his age, so consider your availability before applying. While in foster care, Pops has done well being crated. He is a very mellow old guy and would probably do well when left to roam the house on his own.

Even though he doesn’t have enough teeth left to do much damage, Pops loves antlers and bones. He doesn't have any interest in toys, but he loves food and will do just about anything for a treat. It is probably safe to say that his favorite activity is napping and getting rubs!

We think Pops would be a great match for just about any low key family. He is quite adaptable! Ideally he would be in a home where someone was home all the time. However, he would be a fantastic office companion. He is an amazing greeter and loves everyone he meets! All of that greeting would be tiring though, so Pops would require a soft spot at the office to nap off and on all day.

Being an older gentleman, he shouldn't have a lot of stairs to worry about. Pops doesn't need a fence as he really doesn't bolt or wander, but he does loves a good roll in the grass! If you do not have a fence leash walks are a must. Access to a grassy yard or nearby park would be lovely.

Pops is a happy old man who wants to love everyone he meets. He gets a little hop in his step and a ridiculously adorable butt waggle when excited. If you think he could be a match for your family please apply online.

His new family must be willing and able to drive and pick him up. SMRS does not ship dogs and adopters are expected to pick up their dogs from their foster family. SMRS does not have a facility location. Our dogs are in foster care in people's private homes. For the foster families' safety, we do not disclose specific locations, and we don't set up meet and greets prior to applications.
