Snickerdoodle (Snickers) was picked up after local animal control called us for help. She was found stray and with mange and needed help. We were happy to assist. This little girl has got spunk! Plus, she’s built like a brick house, so she’s got energy to spare. Snickers loves going for walks and playing keep-away with her toys, and she’s shown a special knack for tug of war. Snickers is accustomed to having a fenced yard where she can romp about until her heart’s content, but she’d also be happy with frequent trips to an enclosed dog park and long walks outside. The most important thing is that she has an outlet for her energy.

When she’s not doing zoomies, Snickers is a snuggler who likes warm hugs and nuzzling foster mom’s legs when she bends down for a pet. It doesn’t appear that she had much training in her former home, so right now she’s working on learning his basic manners, most notably her puppy-like tendency to be a little rough. Continued obedience training and classes would be a fantastic opportunity for her to bond with her new family, and to improve her manners. Snickers is bright and eager to please and even though he’s a typical bulldog (re: stubborn), her manners have improved by leaps and bounds in just the few weeks she’s been in foster care. She gets along great with her foster dog brothers and sisters.

Snickerdoodle is a healthy, happy girl. She came with into rescue with demodex mange and hairloss, but that has cleared up. She eats a grain free diet and takes monthly prevention. She is still working on her potty manner which are at about 85% and loud household noises still frighten her. She can be shy at first, but warms up very quickly.

Snickers’ ideal home is one where she gets plenty of attention and opportunity to exercise. She would love a stay-at-home companion, and would also be a great dog for the office. If Snickers does stay at home during the day, it’s important that she have a midday break to go outside for potty and play. In addition, Snickers is still learning not to chew on things that are not toys, so it’s not a good idea to leave her with free roam of the house. Kids in the home should be used to picking up after themselves so as not to lose their favorite things to her.
