Hey look me over, but don't pass me by!  My name is Howie and I was found as a

stray and dropped of at a scary place called a shelter.  SMRS ran to my aid and I

was taken to the Vet were it was found I did have those nasty things called 

Heartworms.  Thank goodness SMRS stepped up to be my angel, I am now heartworm negative

and ready to begin the search for my forever home.

I am a happy, loving, affectionate, but mellow boy who does well with the dogs in

my foster home, but I do require a home with no cats.

 I am crate or pen trained and I am happy to get in on command, I even have the 

the luxury of having the the door left open when my foster family is away and 

I am so excited when you get home that I will talk to you and tell you how very

much I missed you.  I love to be petted, talked to and held....yes I love to be held 

and cuddle time is a must for me.  My days are spent following you around the

the home, chewing on Antlers and Nylabones.  I am a versatile boy who

would be a great match in a home with a fenced yard or an apartment as long as

my adopter always had a leash on me.  I was found as a stray so we know I like to 

wander away and I never want to see that shelter again!  I like children and will be

best matched with a family that has no small children as I love to greet you by 

jumping up and I sure would not want to topple over a small child.

I currently take Thyroid medication daily and will most likely remain on this

medication the rest of my life.  I also have to take a supplement for my folic acid deficiency

which gives me softer stools.
